Many people love eating raw oysters. Some people like eating them but have reservations because they don’t know where they come from. The simple answer is that 95% of raw oysters you see on the market come from oyster farms. This doesn’t mean that they are on a farm somewhere in Nebraska. The oyster farms are located on ocean inlets so that the oysters can be managed and harvested more efficiently. It is actually a really neat process.
